-
Keltic sea salt or Himalayan salt
Optional for extra flavor:
-
Smoked paprika powder
-
Chili powder
-
Garlic powder
-
Pepper
🔪 Preparation method:
Step 1: Preparation and Cutting
-
Let the beef fat soften a bit if frozen, so it cuts more easily.
-
Cut the fat into small cubes or strips of about 2-3 cm.
-
Tip: The smaller the pieces, the faster and crispier they become.
Step 2: Drying (optional but recommended)
-
Spread the pieces of beef fat on a baking tray.
-
Let them dry in the fridge overnight or place them in an oven at about 90°C for 1-2 hours with the door slightly open.
Step 3: Rendering
-
Heat a frying pan or roasting pan over medium heat without oil.
-
Add the dried cubes of beef fat.
-
Render them slowly, stirring regularly until they turn golden brown and crispy. This takes about 20-40 minutes.
-
Remove the beef rinds from the pan with a slotted spoon and let drain on kitchen paper.
Step 4: Seasoning
-
Sprinkle with salt immediately after baking.
-
Optionally add other spices such as paprika powder, chili powder, garlic powder, or pepper.
