Hey health seeker,
I have to confess something to you...
Â
All my life I have had a fascination with the skin. Not only because I want to look "good," but also because healthy skin says a lot about your overall health. Think of:
✅ Good circulation
✅ A strong immune system
✅ A good hormone balance
✅ Optimal nutrition and hydration
✅ Healthy intestines and digestion
What is good skin health?
Moreover, healthy skin is also easy to recognize. It is even, supple, hydrated, with good elasticity, few impurities, and a natural glow.
The right fats
An important supporter of healthy skin is fat - but the right kind of fat. We need Omega 6. Vegetable oils contain pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids that oxidize quickly. Tallow (beef fat) is natural fat that perfectly matches the structure of our skin.
Â
It has a number of unique benefits:
1) Tallow is rich in fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K)
2) It contains CLA, which has anti-inflammatory effects (conjugated linoleic acid)
3) It deeply hydrates - without clogging your pores.
4) It supports the skin barrier and helps with eczema and psoriasis.
Â
I am a fan of two Dutch companies that make beautiful, natural skin products based on tallow:

Nourish your skin from withinÂ
Applying cream is only a small part of having healthy skin. True skin health actually starts from within. These are my favorite nutrients for radiant skin:
-
Vitamin C: Organic berries, kiwi, orange, or the powerful Camu Camu
-
Omega-3 (EPA/DHA: Cod liver oil or fresh fish
-
Zinc: Oysters & grass-fed beef
-
Copper & Iron: Liver, beef
-
Vitamin A: Liver
Extra tip:
For better circulation and a naturally radiant skin, I use the Guasha scraper daily. By 'scraping' every day, I definitely see a difference. It is a traditional Chinese technique that makes your skin stronger and smoother.
We sometimes forget that our skin is our largest organ, and that it (usually) takes the most wear and tear. So don't forget to give your skin the attention it needs - so you can feel good in your skin for a long time 😉.

Have a nice day!
