I am intolerant to dairy products, can I still make your dishes?
Absolutely! For example, when using hangop, yogurt, quark, or kefir, you can replace that with coconut yogurt. Many people can tolerate ghee, but of course, you can also choose coconut oil or tallow.
Are the Real Roots Recipes suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, all dishes that do not contain meat and gelatin are suitable for vegetarians.
Can I make the croquettes with a gluten-free flour?
Feel free to try it! So far, we have not used any other types of flour than spelt, so we are very curious about what creativity you will unleash on it.
Do you have a recipe for gluten-free bread?
Charlotte van Loo has a recipe for gluten-free sourdough bread on her website.
Can I use a different type of flour instead of tiger nut flour?
There is no other flour that has the same benefits as tigernut flour, such as the absence of mineral-robbing anti-nutrients and unstable fats. Because tigernut flour is naturally sweet, there is relatively little sugar in our recipes. Of course, we don't stop you from experimenting yourself. If you want to use a different type of flour, you should take into account that you will most likely need more sugar. Taste and try for yourself how much extra sugar/sweetener you need to add, as we have no experience with other types of flour with these recipes.
